The Center for Behavioral and Decision Sciences in Medicine (CBDSM), a multidisciplinary research team sponsored by the Ann Arbor Veterans Administration and the University of Michigan Medical School, has an active program for post-doctoral Research Fellows. The CBDSM mission is to understand and improve the health care decisions made by both patients and providers and to explore the relevant implications for health care policy. Our post-doctoral Fellows have included scholars whose research in health care decisions and policy has been approached using theories from social cognition, motivation and emotion, risk communication, ethics, and economics. CBDSM Fellows are encouraged to conduct independent research with an emphasis on study inception, manuscript writing, and applying for grants. CBDSM's resources and collaborative support enable the Fellows to build their own research programs.

Each year, CBDSM recruits one or more new post-doctoral Research Fellows. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and education. All requirements of the PhD degree must be completed before the post-doctoral Research Fellow appointment can begin. Candidates are asked to submit a letter of research interests, reprints/preprints, CV, and three letters of recommendation. Applications for the academic year 2010-2011 are now closed. General inquiries about CBDSM's Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program may be directed to

Angie Fagerlin, PhD
