Michael Volk is a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar and a Lecturer in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Michigan. His clinical practice focuses on the care of patients with liver disease, including those undergoing liver transplantation. His research interests focus on the ethics of resource allocation, patient and physician decision making, and quality of care. In particular, he is interested in shaping public policy to impact individual medical decisions. He is a member of the Adult Ethics Committee at the University of Michigan, and he volunteers at the Hope Medical Clinic for the uninsured in Ypsilanti. His hobbies include endurance sports and home renovation.
